About Me

The Blogger
Tazim Damji, CID and soon B.A. in Art History with a minor in
First Nations Studies
I can be contacted by email, or on twitter. Here is my Media Kit.
My background is in interior design, and I work as an artist in a variety of mediums including painting, stationary and pottery.

I live with my best friend, who I met in high school. We've lived together for 9 years starting in Calgary, where we grew up, Auckland, where we went on exchange, and here in Vancouver.
I have also lived in Houston, Texas. My family (1 older brother, mom and dad) moved there from Vancouver (where I was born) when I was 2 and we lived there for 10 years.

Other than blogging, I enjoy reading design and fashion magazines, eating vegan food, watching movies, going hiking and for walks, travelling, and creating art.

The Blog
I started this blog a few months ago, in March 2010, as a way to focus on my 'hidden' personas. As a full-time student at the University of British Columbia for the past few years, I have focused on little other than being a student. This blog came out of my desire to pursue my creative personas. I am pleased with how things have come together with this blog and enjoy working on it everyday. I have met a lot of great bloggers through various communities that make me certain that this is a good use of my time.

The Future
I would like to focus more on my art practice and have opened up an Artfire shop and Etsy shop with stationery that myself and my best friend design/create. I hope to include more on the blog related to my first career as an interior decorator. Even though I don't pursue this career professionally any longer, I am still very interested in design and home decor. I would especially love to feature home tours or studio tours or before/after projects. I would also be interested in reviewing home-related products that would fit in with my interests.

If you have any ideas for guest posts you would like to submit, I am actively accepting them. Some suggested categories include:
  • art  - your own or someone else's artistic practice
  • design - stores in your area that you especially enjoy or online
  • new products related to home decor or design
  • travel - your personal travel experiences with pictures
  • vintage or historical fashion
  • Canadiana - history, fashion, design products, stores, artisans, travel etc.
If you would like to be featured on the blog and have a blog or online store that you would like written-up please contact me and if I think it is a good match I will contact you for more information and photos. I am actively seeking to promote small businesses related to fashion, eco-friendliness, art and design.
