Being a Decorator: Martha Stewart's Kitchen

Who would know more about having a functional, yet beautiful kitchen than Martha Stewart? Here are a few pictures from one of Martha's homes.

Rather than ordinary built-in cabinets, Martha chose to have long counters with marble tops. In the picture you can see how these cabinets have glass sides so that they give off a light, airy appearance.

I like how there are two islands - very functional when there are multiple people cooking at once (which I'm sure is the case at Martha's house?!) plus there is still lots of room to sit and also do other things, like crafts.

This looks like my kind of coffee/tea station!

The small dining room can be accessed through the double doors in the servery. The space includes freezer drawers for storage, plus an ice maker and warming drawers for entertaining. Two dishwashers ease clean-up, and the marble floor can be vacuumed and washed with a damp mop. The wall color is matched to the cupboards, and the gentle, cool tones make a cohesive whole of many diverse features.(from Martha Stewart website)
